Akasa Venom 550W Modular Power Supply Review

This is my review of the Akasa Venom 550W Modular Power Supply.

Akasa Venom 550W Modular Power Supply

Well I needed to get a power supply for my first PC build, not really knowing how much wattage I'd need.

In the end I picked the Akasa Venom 550W Modular Power Supply, offering 550W I'd hoped this would be enough for me at least to get started, and it was. The main attraction I have to admit to this unit was the yellow fan. It looks quite cool, but one installed into the black case, it's barely noticable behind the back grill in take. When the power is off and the fan isn't spinning, you can just about make out the yellow, so it's still a nice touch. Even better is the volume level, it's pretty quiet running, thank fully. Another major plus of the Akasa Venom 550W Modular Power Supply for me is the price, I paid £60-£70ish. Also, it's a modular power supply, so most of the cables are additional cables (in that they're not permanently connected to the power supply), so if you're not using most of the cables like me, then you can leave the cables in the power supply box, and not in your PC case wasting space.
